Human Neuronal Differentiation Core

Baylor College of Medicine's Human Stem Cell Core recently merged with the Human Neuronal Differentiation Core at the Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute. The combined Human Stem Cell and Neuronal Differentiation Core provides the expertise as well as the equipment necessary for reprogramming, genome editing, picking, and characterization of human pluripotent stem cells and their differentiated progeny derived from the skin cells of patients with neurological disorders. In addition, the Core offers simultaneous electrophysiology recordings and calcium imaging at the single cell and network levels, which are critical for the initial assessment of neuronal maturation and phenotype screening.
